How to make your first four-panel comic strip

What is a four-frame comic strip?
Four-panel comics are short comics consisting of four panels, arranged vertically and compactly, with themes of daily life and humor. Famous works include "Snoopy", "Garfield", "Hetalia", "Lucky☆Star", etc. This comic form is simple and direct, especially suitable for online dissemination and fragmented reading, and is deeply loved by readers.

So how do you use the four-frame comic function to create an interesting and creative comic?
Step 1: Create a project
① Enter the Readkidz homepage. Click on "Caricature" in the left navigation bar or click on "Four-panel comic" under "Choosing Picture Books by Age" on the right page to enter the creation page!

② Choose the age group and protagonist type of the story according to your ideas!

Step 2: Choose a subject
After entering the subject selection page, you can choose the comic subject according to your own ideas!
Currently, the themes are divided into six categories: Daily Life、Comedy and Humor、Workplace Diversity、Campus Fun、Special Holidays Category、Fantasy Adventure Category! Each major category has a corresponding theme category! (Note: For ages 6 - 8, there are currently only three categories: Daily Life, Comedy and Humor, and Fantasy Adventure Category!)

Step 3: Refine the character
Enter the story creation page. The story on the left shows the comic title, subtitles of each frame and the plot. Click the title to modify the title of the comic!


Step 4: Choose a style
After confirming the character, we need to choose the style. Currently, the platform contains more than 100 styles! It is divided into two series: classic reissue and official,Select a style for your comic and click Next!


Step 5: Character Portrait
After confirming the style, we need to create the character portrait!
① Check the character list to see if there are any missing characters!

② If you are not satisfied with the currently selected style, you can click to enter the style selection page and reselect the style! After confirming the style, please make sure that the character portraits of all characters are of the same style! And make sure that each character has a character portrait before you can proceed to the next step! (Please note that after clicking to enter the next step, you cannot regenerate the character portrait!)


③ Click "Generate" to create a character portrait. If you are not satisfied with the generated image, you can click "Generate" to regenerate it!

④Four pictures will be generated at once. Select the one you want and click "confirm"! (Note: The first picture is selected by default. If you want to change it, be sure to click "confirm" to select the picture!)

Step 6: Storyboard Page
① Click "Edit" in the upper right corner of the subtitle on the canvas page to enter the prompt word editing page!

② Check whether the content of the prompt words corresponds to the story subtitles, and whether the number of characters described in the prompt words corresponds to the character portraits!

(Note: In addition to the official prompts, you can also click on "My Prompt" to write your own prompts and then generate images!)

③ You can directly modify the descriptive words. If you add new descriptive words, please be sure to press the "Enter" key and add the descriptive words within the specified number of characters, otherwise it will not take effect! After the modification is completed, please remember to click "confirm" to save!

④ After the review is completed, click "Generate" to generate the screen image. If you are not satisfied with the original image, you can enter the prompt word editing page to adjust the drawing prompt words and click "Generate" to regenerate!

⑤ Four pictures will be generated at once. Select the one you want and click "confirm"! (Note: The first picture is selected by default. If you want to change it, be sure to click "confirm" after selecting the picture!)

⑥ You can also change the picture on the storyboard page. Click "confirm" to select a picture! Click to proceed to the next step!

Step 7: Image Editing
① Enter the picture editing page, and the four pictures will be arranged into a four-frame comic by default!

② Click on the picture, and click on the green dot in the green border of the picture to rotate, zoom in and out the selected picture!

③ Select the picture and right-click it. You can use the toolbar to Undo, Lock, Flip horizontally or vertically the selected picture.

④ The material library on the right contains various types of stickers, bubble frames and other image materials. Click to enter and select materials that match the style of the picture book to make the picture more interesting! (When the overall composition of the generated picture is good but there are slight flaws, stickers can also be used to cover up the unsatisfactory parts!)


If you don’t like the initial bubble frame, you can also click to enter the material library on the right, find the bubble type sticker material, select the appropriate bubble, and put it in the appropriate position to make your picture look more creative!

Step 8: Text Editing
After you finish editing the picture, you can start the layout design of the subtitles. Click on the subtitles and the corresponding font settings will appear above! Choose the appropriate font style, adjust the appropriate size, and then put it in the appropriate position to make the whole picture look more harmonious!


If you want to add new subtitles, you can click the text library in the right toolbar to add new subtitles. The text library contains a variety of font effects, and you can choose according to your needs! (Please note: In order to make the entire picture book look more consistent, it is recommended to set the subtitles to a unified font effect!)


Step 9: Download and share
When you have finished editing your four-frame comic, click Save and then click the "Present" button to preview the entire comic effect!


Click the download icon in the upper right corner of the canvas to download your four-panel comic!

After confirming that everything is correct, you can click the "Share" button in the lower right corner to share your work!

Click Share and select the platform you want to share on, and you will be redirected to the corresponding platform and share with one click! You can also get points for sharing a four-frame comic on social media for the first time!
