How to use AI to create your first picture book

Welcome to ReadKidz!

How can we use AI to create a complete children's picture book on the Readkidz platform?

Step 1: Create a project

AI-generated picture book entrance:

① Find the AI picture book button on the homepage and click “AI Generate” to start story creation.

② Click on AI Generate in the left navigation bar to enter the creation page.

Step 2: Story Generation

1、Set the picture book parameters according to the content of the children's picture book you want to create: target age, story type, story theme, story style, narrative perspective, whether to use personification, and picture book size!

2、Enter the story theme

The following three methods can be used to input the content of the story theme:

Method ① Directly enter the story theme in the text box and click the AI Generate button to generate the story! (note that the number of characters should not exceed the limit!)

Method ② You can click on the sample copy below and create using the stories provided by the platform!

Method ③ Click to use the AI assistant in the upper right corner and ask it to generate a story theme!

Click on the dialog box, Send the requirements for the type of story you hope to generate to the AI. Select the desired story theme based on the content of the AI's reply, and copy and paste it into the text box!

Step 3: Parse the characters

After the story is generated, enter the story section, review and view the original story. If there are any parts that you are not satisfied with, you can directly edit and modify them. If you are not satisfied with the generated story, you can click the arrow to go back to the previous step and generate a new story!

Step 4: Select the style

After confirming the role, you need to choose a style. The platform currently offers over 170 styles. Select the style you want and proceed to the next step!

Step 5: Character Portrait

After confirming the style, it is necessary to create a character portrait!

① Review whether there are any missing characters in the character list！

② View the character information panel on the right! Click "edit character" below or the "small pencil" in the upper right corner of the character panel on the left to enter the character editing page!

③ On the character information editing page, there will be corresponding character information according to the character type. Please write the character information in the following format!

（Please note: If there is any information about clothing on the information editing page of non - anthropomorphic animal characters, be sure to delete all clothing - related information!）

Human:

a. Character skin color (required)

b. Character hairstyle (required)

c. Character facial features (required)

d. Character accessories (try not to fill in)

e. Character clothing (required for human characters, not required for animal characters)

Animals:

a. Character skin color (required)

b. Character facial features (required)

④ After entering the character editing page, you can manually modify the basic information of the character!

For animal characters, you can manually modify the basic information and whether they are anthropomorphic! (Note: If the user is not satisfied with the previously created character data, they can temporarily modify whether it is anthropomorphic or not, modify the clothing, etc., save it first, and then manually generate the image.)

After modifying the character information, you can directly modify the descriptive words. If you add new descriptive words, please be sure to press the "Enter" key and add them within the specified number of characters, otherwise it will not take effect! After the modification is completed, please remember to click "confirm" to save! (Note: After modifying whether an animal character is anthropomorphic, you must manually modify the description of the animal character's clothing!)

⑤ Four pictures will be generated simultaneously. Select the one that best matches the prompt! (Note: After the pictures are generated, the first one will be selected by default. If the user wants to change the picture, please click on the corresponding picture!)

Animal characters support the generation of character pictures in two types: anthropomorphic and non-anthropomorphic!

Anthropomorphism of animal characters:

Please note that it is necessary to ensure that each character has a single-character portrait, otherwise the next step cannot be carried out!

⑥ If you are not satisfied with the character portraits generated in the selected style, you can click on the style selection page and reselect the style! After confirming the style, please ensure that the character portraits of all characters are in the same style! And ensure that each character has a character portrait before proceeding to the next step! (Please note that after clicking to proceed to the next step, you cannot regenerate the character portraits!)

Step 6: Edit subtitles

On the picture book subtitle editing page, the system will write the picture book subtitles in segments according to the original text content!

When reviewing subtitles, you can freely edit, add, and delete subtitles!

① Edit subtitles

Just click on the corresponding subtitle to edit it!

② Add subtitles

Hovering the mouse over the position where subtitles need to be added will display a "+". Click on the "+" to add new subtitles!

③ Delete subtitles

For subtitles that need to be deleted, hover the mouse over the corresponding subtitle, and a delete icon will appear at the end of the subtitle! (Please note: Once you click to delete, the subtitle cannot be restored!)

Note: Please ensure that all subtitles are correct before proceeding to the next step. Once you proceed to the next step, the subtitles cannot be modified again.

Step 7: PPT Pages

① Verify whether the number of slides on the left side reaches the number of pages specified by the subtitle!

If you want to add a new character, on the picture book editing page, click on “Character List,” and then select “Add Role” in the sidebar.

Enter the information and description for the new character you wish to create.

Click the “Generate characters” button to create the character image you envision.

Compare with the character information and select the most appropriate picture!

Choose a page where you would like to add the new character, click the “Add Role” button on the right, and then click “Generate.”

② Review whether the characters that have appeared in the subtitles have corresponding character portraits!

③ Check the prompt editing section on the right!

You can also click "AI images" in the upper left corner of the canvas to enter the prompt editing page!

④ Verify whether the content of the prompt words corresponds to the story subtitles, and whether the number of characters described in the prompt words corresponds to the character portraits!

Click on "My Prompt", or you can write your own prompt words! Enter a description for the image you want to generate, suggested format: [Background description] [Character action description] [Character clothing description], [Hair color description] [Camera description]

When writing "My Prompt", "Portrait reference" can be deleted or modified!

⑤ After the review is completed, click "Generate" to generate the picture of the scene. If you are not satisfied with the generated image, you can click "Generate" to regenerate it, or enter the prompt editing page to adjust the drawing prompt! (Please note: When there is no prompt, clicking the generate button will take you to the prompt page!)

You can also click "Double-page spread" in the upper left corner to enable the two-page spread design!

(Note: To ensure the reading experience of the picture book, the spread function only supports picture book ratios of 1:1 and 3:4! The spread design on the right - hand page can only be enabled after the spread design on the left - hand page is opened!)

⑥ The generated images will be displayed on the right side of the canvas. Users can select one of them. If no image is selected, the first image will be selected by default! (Note: Due to platform optimization and upgrade, the 4-in-1 images in your historical image generation data that have not been selected cannot be queried!)

Click "Apply to the canvas" to add the drawing to the canvas!

If the number of characters in the subtitles exceeds the character limit, a plain text page will be generated specifically for placing the subtitles. A "Text only" label will appear in the upper right corner of the plain text page! (Please note: No images can be generated on the plain text page!)

If you don't need the plain text page, you can select this page and click "delete" to remove it, including the subtitles. (If you need to retrieve the deleted page, you can click on the "Trash" in the upper - level pages to restore the deleted page!)

Step 8: Image Editing

ReadKidz platform supports basic image editing features and can directly perform layout design for picture books!

When editing a picture book, you can choose artistic fonts for the cover copy! (Note: This feature currently only supports English picture books. Artistic fonts for other languages will be gradually improved later. Stay tuned!)

① Click the image, click the green dot on the green border of the image and hold it down to perform operations on the image's position and size. Right-click on the image and select the corresponding options to perform the corresponding operations as well!

② Click on the subtitle, click on the green dot on the green border of the subtitle and hold down to adjust the subtitle position and size. Right-click on the subtitle and select the corresponding options to perform the corresponding operations!

Click the "Translate" button.

③ If you need to add a new canvas, you can click "+ Add pages" below the canvas on the slide interface. The new canvas will only be added under the specified canvas, so be sure to pay attention!

④ On the newly added blank page, you can click the "Generate" icon to enter the AI ​​drawing page to write your own prompt words and generate pictures!

⑤ If you are not satisfied with a page of the picture book, you can click the three dots in the upper left corner of the canvas and click the delete icon to delete it!

⑥ Click the trash can icon in the navigation bar to view the deleted pages, and click "Recovery" to restore the deleted pages. (Please note: the newly added blank pages cannot be restored after deletion!)

⑦ If you want to add subtitles, you can click the new subtitle icon in the toolbar below and select the appropriate font style to add it!

⑧ In order to ensure the consistency and viewing experience of the picture book, please remember to unify the font effects of the subtitles on the screen. Right-click the subtitles and select "Unify Style" to unify the font effects of all subtitles except the cover and end captions!

⑨ ReadKidz supports a variety of stickers, bubble frames, and other diverse material libraries. Click the Library icon in the toolbar below, enter the material library, select materials that match the picture book style, making the picture more interesting!

⑩ After the picture layout design of the picture book is completed, we can dub each subtitle. Click the dubbing icon in the toolbar below to enter!！

⑪ Click on the "Change All Voice Actors" in the upper right corner to enter the "Voice Library" for voiceover role listening and selection!

⑫ You can click "change voice actor" without checking the subtitles to directly enter the voice actor list, confirm the voice actor, and then you can unify all subtitles to use that voice actor!

⑬ You can also check the subtitle, enter the voiceover list, and voiceover the subtitle separately!

⑭ Subtitle addition can also be voice narrated, and you can drag the subtitle order in the voice narration list to adjust the reading order of subtitles on this page!

⑮ After the dubbing is completed, you can click on the background music library below and select appropriate background music according to the content of the picture book story. You can listen to it by pressing the play button and click "+" to add background music!

⑯ After adding background music, you can click the background wall library in the toolbar below and select a background picture that matches the style of the picture book, which can make the picture book preview more vivid and interesting!

⑰ Save last, click preview, you can preview the overall effect of the picture book, and adjust it again according to the places that are not satisfactory!
